Anzac Assembly
On the 4th of May 2016 Toko School had our annual Anzac Ceremony. Rhys and I were lucky enough to get speaking parts along with a few other students. As we raised the flag all of Toko School stood for a minute of silence to remember those who had fallen at the war. Here a few photos to show our special time remembering.
Lest we forget

The Year 7 debating team completed again Puketapu School on Wednesday 4th May and won their debate with the moot 'Computers should replace teachers' Toko was the negative team for this debate.

As part of our preparation for our school marae visit we have begun to learn our mihi's. This is a very simple introduction in Te Reo Maori. Using the template below you could put together your own mihi's with your family.
Tēnā koutou katoa,
Ko ____________________ te maunga – My mountain is…
Ko ____________________ te awa – My river is…
Ko ____________________ te waka – My canoe is…
Ko ____________________ te iwi – My tribe is…
Ko ____________________ te hapū – My sub-tribe is…
